The Stanley Cup arrives in Colorado Springs
The Stanley Cup is in Colorado Springs Wednesday, and while the public can get a glimpse of it at the Olympic Training Center in the afternoon, it stopped by the KRDO studio this morning.
The Cup is one of the most prestigious trophies in all of professional sports.
It was first awarded in 1893 and features the names of previous winning teams prominently along the base of the cup. It is also given to each winning team member for a day and is escorted 24 hours a day by a bodyguard.
If you want a look, head to the Olympic Training Center at about 3 p.m. The event is free to the public.
Meanwhile, the Colorado Avalanche is still in the hunt for the Cup as the NHL playoffs continue.
