Police identify bicyclist killed in crash at Fillmore and Union
A bicyclist who was in serious condition after being hit by a dump truck last week has died, according to Colorado Springs police.
The crash happened last Tuesday at North Union Boulevard and Fillmore Street around 3:20 p.m.
CSPD says 32-year-old Jeffrey Alcorn was riding his bicycle across the intersection on North Union, and he had a green light. The dump truck also had a green light and the driver was trying to turn right onto Fillmore Street when he hit Alcorn.
Alcorn was taken to the hospital but died on Sunday.
The driver of the dump truck hasn’t been identified. At this time, no charges have been filed, but police say the investigation is ongoing.
Alcorn’s death is the 13th traffic fatality in the city so far this year, according to CSPD.

A bicyclist is in serious condition after being hit by a vehicle near the intersection of Fillmore Ave. and Union Boulevard Tuesday afternoon.
KRDO is told that a man was riding the bike and is in critical condition as of Wednesday afternoon.
The crash had northbound Union and eastbound Fillmore blocked, the roadways reopened at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
Police are investigating whether charges will be filed.
