04/21/19 Forecast Discussion
Rain showers will gradually come to an end overnight in SE Colorado. A few of those thunderstorms did cause some issues in Kit Carson and Cheyenne Counties with flash flooding and small hail. But most of the severe thunderstorms will stay in Northern Colorado tonight. Temperatures will reach into the low 40’s in Colorado Springs tonight which is still slightly warmer than our average low of 35 for April 25th. Winds stay breezy overnight with gusts to 25mph so it’ll feel colder than it is. Monday is shaping up to be a mostly cloudy day as we’ll barely warm up with high temperatures in the mid 40’s. Most of the precipitation will be in the higher elevations to start off the morning. The Sangre’s and the Wet’s are favored for snow accumulation with the San Luis Valley potentially getting thunderstorms by mid-afternoon. Can’t rule out the chance for a few scattered showers in the I-25 corridor. Far southern Colorado is likely again to receive another round of rain showers Tuesday afternoon, most of the moisture Tuesday will struggle to reach into El Paso County. Wednesday finally starts to clear up with mostly sunny skies and temperatures back into the 70’s.
