Woman ‘infatuated’ with Columbine shooting bought gun legally in Colorado

According to a post on Facebook, Sol Pais bought a gun legally in Littleton.

Authorities say the 18-year-old was “infatuated” with the Columbine shooting. Pais traveled from Florida to Colorado Monday night and made threats against Denver area schools ahead of the 20th anniversary of the Columbine shooting.

More than a thousand schools around the Denver metro area canceled classes Wednesday because of the concerns.

The FBI later found Pais dead with a self-inflicted gunshot wound Wednesday morning at the base of Mt. Evans.

A Colorado gun shop posted on Facebook a few hours after it was reported that Pais was dead, saying that she had purchased a shotgun legally.

According to Colorado Gun Broker, Pais went through a full background check and was given a clearance by both NICS and CBI.

In the post written by Josh Rayburn, he states, “We had no reason to suspect she was a threat to either herself or anyone else.”
