Pueblo United Way behind on funding goal

Pueblo’s United way has been helping people and non profit organizations in the area for 95 years, but this year they could use some help.

“This year for the first time in more than 17 years we are trailing fairly significantly on our fundraising efforts,” said Andrea Aragon, CEO and President of Pueblo’s United Way.

United Way’s fundraising deadline is just a few weeks away and they are down $90,000 from their goal.

The organization helps fund twenty-five different non-profits in the Pueblo community. Organizations that help feed families, get elderly the medical care they need, and with assist with mental health groups in the community.

“I think while the economy is fairly decent right now there are still a lot of people that are finding themselves in a crisis situation, maybe one paycheck away from needing help,” said Aragon. “We are asking people to step up and be that hand up.”

Argaon says every little bit from the community helps, give what you can or feel comfortable giving. If you would like to donate you can do so here, or you can call the Pueblo United Way offices at 719-225-8580.
