Marty’s Saturday Morning Forecast – Showery Saturday – 4/13/19

Today: Mostly cloudy with areas of mainly light snow this morning with some breaks in the clouds through lunch time. Scattered rain and snow showers should redevelop over and near the mountains this afternoon although not everyone will receive additional precipitation. Over the mountains localized bursts of snow could briefly reduce visibility and whiten some roadways possibly producing a quick inch or 2″ of wet snow on mainly cooler surfaces. Some wet snow may fall at times over Colorado Springs under any stronger showers this afternoon but we don’t expect significant accumulations of snow around town outside of brief whitening of the grass at times. Lower elevations along the Arkansas Rover will have a mixture or rain and wet snow with the afternoon showers, with spotty rain showers possible east of the I-25 corridor and some areas might even receive some small hail. High temperatures today will likely only reach the 40s over most of the plains and 30s for the mountains.

Tonight: Showers will end then clearing and chilly with low temperatures in the teens over the mountains with 20s for the plains.

Sunday: Much warmer and becoming breezy during the afternoon with passing clouds. High temperatures should reach the 60s and 70s for the plains with 50s over the mountains.

Extended: We should remain partly cloudy, breezy to windy at times and warm Monday and Tuesday with high temperatures in the 70s to lower 80s for the plains, mainly 60s over the mountains. By late Tuesday the next storm will be spreading colder air, rain and snow to western Colorado. Tuesday night into Wednesday we will turn much colder, remain windy and have another chance for some rain and snow. A few rain and snow showers may linger into Thursday and we’ll stay cool. We should start to warm some on Friday and as we head towards Easter weekend it looks as if we may be quite warm.
