Woman dies following car crash in Colorado Springs

A 91-year-old woman is dead following a car crash that happened on March 12 at North Union Blvd. and Austin Bluffs Pkwy.

Police were called to the scene of the crash and discovered 91-year-old Alberta Lou Davis was traveling northbound on Union when she crossed into the eastbound turn lane of southbound Union.

Davis struck a Ford pickup truck that was waiting to turn left. Davis was transported to a nearby hospital.

The driver of the truck was uninjured.

On March 17, Davis succumbed to the injuries she suffered in the crash.

According to the Colorado Springs Police Department, Davis’ death is the eighth traffic-related fatality in Colorado Springs this year. There were also eight traffic fatalities in Colorado Springs at this time last year.
