22-year-old arrested following Colorado Springs crash, police say alcohol was a factor

Police responded to a traffic crash Sunday evening in the area of N. Chestnut St. and W. Garden of the Gods Rd.

Upon arrival, officers learned that the passenger in the vehicle involved was seriously injured.

After further investigation, police arrested 22-year-old Abigail Barta for vehicular assault. The investigation revealed that alcohol was a factor in the crash.

Westbound Garden of the Gods was closed at N. Chestnut St. for five hours following the crash.
