Blizzard Conditions Wednesday 3-12-19

TONIGHT: Scattered rain and clouds are in the forecast tonight with lows in the 30s. Snow is likely in the mountains.

EXTENDED: Moisture keeps surging in into Wednesday, so we wake up to widespread lower elevation rain and mountain snow. As we go through the morning, snow levels will drop and snow will pick up and become more widespread. Winds will also be on the increase through the late morning and early afternoon. At 10am, blizzard warnings go into effect due to 50-70 mph wind and blowing snow. This will create the concern for wind damage and near impossible travel over the Palmer Divide area and Monument Hill. The worst driving looks to be during the late morning and into the late afternoon. Please do not travel through this area tomorrow if you do not have to. Heavy snow accumulations are expected when this clears by Thursday morning: Teller County (4-8″), the Palmer Divide (4-8″), Springs (2-4″) and Pueblo (Trace-2″).
