Ballots mailed out for Colorado Springs municipal election

The next general municipal election in Colorado Springs is less than a month away, and the city began mailing out ballots as of Friday.

It’s a short ballot, so it shouldn’t take you too long to fill out. Four people are running for Colorado Springs Mayor, including incumbent John Suthers. Eleven people are vying for three at-large city council seats, and the Colorado Springs firefighters union wants voter approval for the right to collective bargaining with the city.

All active voters within the city of Colorado Springs will receive a ballot packet. (Click here for a sample ballot.)

You can then submit the completed ballot through the mail or at one of the ballot drop-off locations scattered around the city. If mailing the ballot back, give yourself at least a week before election day.

The election officially takes place on April 2.
