New documents and audio interviews released in Chris Watts case

The Colorado Bureau of Investigation released audio interviews and documents in connection to the Chris Watts case Thursday.

CBI along with an FBI special agent conducted a follow-up interview with Watts Feb.18. The Associated Press reports, Watts admitted to investigators that he strangled his wife inside their home and drove her body to an oil work site where he smothered the girls using a blanket.

Watts had previously admitted killing his wife but said she had killed the daughters. He told investigators who visited him he lied about her killing the children.

CBI investigators asked him about any affairs he had as well as how he came to murder his wife and two daughters.

Watts said he strangled his wife Shanann Aug. 13, 2018, after he told her he wanted a divorce and she told him he would never see their children again.

Watts told investigators he has pictures of his wife and daughters in his Wisconsin prison cell and he talks to them every morning and night.

KRDO is combing through the 31 pages and nearly five hours of audio interviews. Check back on this story for updates.
