Colorado Springs police arrest suspect in Aug. 2018 killing

Colorado Springs police say a 28-year-old man who was in custody for a stabbing that happened last August was just charged with murder for another killing that happened the next day.

CSPD had previously identified Jimmy Lee Neill as a suspect in a stabbing at Dorchester Park on Aug. 30. Neill was taken into custody on Sept. 1 and charged with first-degree assault for that stabbing.

On Aug. 31, police had found 54-year-old Randol F. Lillie dead near the 200 block of E. Las Vegas Street. Police began investigating, but it wasn’t until Wednesday that authorities obtained a warrant to arrest Neill for second-degree murder.

Neill was still in the El Paso County Criminal Justice Center when police served the arrest warrant.

We’re working on getting more details about what led up to the killing.
