Part of I-70 closes due to avalanche mitigation

I-70 was closed between Herman Gulch and Silverthorne Tuesday morning due to avalanche reduction work.

CDOT conducted the mitigation work after snow came across all travel lanes.

As of 8:20 a.m. Tuesday morning, CDOT says the closure could last up to four hours.
