Authorities perform 2 pit maneuvers in Colorado Springs in less than 24 hours

Colorado Springs State Patrol deputies were involved in a car chase Tuesday morning. The chase happened just before 7 a.m. at mile marker 138 on I-25 (in southwest Colorado Springs), the chase went north and ended at Las Vegas and Weber.

Deputies were trying to stop two male suspects who were driving two stolen vehicles. They performed a pit maneuver on the I-25 off-ramp at exit 140. The suspect managed to get away in the other vehicle involved.

That vehicle had turned onto Weber St. when lost control and crashed into a fire hydrant. Deputies took the two male suspects into custody. There were no injuries. Authorities also recovered a stolen gun from one of the vehicles.

KRDO is working to get more information on the incident.

Later Monday evening, deputies with the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office were involved in a pursuit. They followed the suspect vehicle through Manitou Springs and eventually ended in Old Colorado City.
