Messy commute anticipated for Monday morning drive

The second wave of snow moved through Southern Colorado Sunday afternoon and evening.

Heavy snowfall left much of Colorado Springs covered in a sheet of white.

Roads left covered in snow, difficult to navigate, and often slick in several spots.

The City of Colorado Springs has a full call out in place to try to get the streets cleaned up as fast as possible, however, North District Supervisor Chris Howard says his crews are facing some challenges.

“We were getting ahead of things earlier today, but with this recent band that’s come in, we have fallen behind again,” Howard said.

Howard said the concern now is how the roads will be for Monday’s commute.

“They’re going to be extremely slick,” Howard said.
