Heat returns this weekend as moisture slows down

TODAY: Happy Saturday everyone! Another warm day is expected with plenty of 80s and 90s across southern Colorado. We'll probably keep things mostly dry this weekend as monsoon moisture takes a back seat for the next several days. In fact, we look to get even hotter both Sunday and Monday. Enjoy the drier weather, and make sure to stay hydrated!

SUNDAY: Hot. That's basically it. Lots of 90s along I-25, 100s possible over the eastern plains. Don't expect much moisture.

NEXT WEEK: Monday will probably be our hottest day of the next 7, where temps could get well into the 90s along I-25 and well into the 100s over the plains. A strong cold front looks to sweep through Monday night into Tuesday where we will likely see a pretty significant drop in temps Tuesday. Shower and storm chances are possible Monday, but look a bit more likely on Tuesday. At this point though, neither days look to present significant storms... We may see an increase in storm activity by later next week as the monsoon starts to creep back into the forecast... we'll be watching for that as we go into the middle parts of August as well, with a chance for cooler temps in that period too.
