22-year-old dies after crash in Colorado Springs; weather likely a factor

A 22-year-old man who crashed his truck as snow pelted Colorado Springs Friday night died over the weekend.

Colorado Springs police say Cristian Bridgewater was involved in a crash around 8:45 p.m. Friday near 1900 Carmel Drive. (MAP) Bridgewater’s truck hit a tree, and he was pinned inside his truck before first responders could get there.

He was taken to the hospital with serious injuries but died Sunday night. This is the seventh traffic fatality in Colorado Springs this year.

Police say they haven’t determined if speed, alcohol, or drugs are a factor, but it’s believed that the wintry conditions contributed to the crash.

If you saw the crash or have any information, call police at 719-444-7000.
