Colorado Springs police arrest two people after failure to turn on headlights causes crash

Police arrested a man and a woman Sunday night after they were caught driving without headlights on and causing a crash.

Officers were called to the intersection of N. Academy Blvd. and York Rd./Brookwood Dr. for reports of a two-car crash. Police ultimately arrested Michael Cook and Bryana Rice.

After further investigation, it was revealed that Cook and Rice were in a Ford sedan and were traveling without the car’s headlights on. The sedan ended up crashing into an SUV at the intersection of Academy Blvd. and York Rd./Brookwood Dr.

The SUV rotated and turned onto its side during the collision. Cook and Rice were transported to the hospital for injuries. Rice sustained serious bodily injuries. At this time, police have not released a picture of Rice.
