Windy Valentine’s Day – 2/14/19

TODAY: We will see a windy start to your Valentine’s Day with gusts topping off near 50 mph in most places through the Pikes Peak Region. As we head through noon, winds will decrease quite a bit and should be relatively light by the early evening hours. Highs today will be warming into the 50s and 60s and will be coming with increasing clouds. A few rain and snow showers are possible west of I-25 through the evening

TONIGHT: Snow showers will be ongoing in Teller County with rain and snow in Colordo Springs. Snow will be ongoing over the Southern Mountains and showers along with freezing drizzle are possible out over the plains. Light accumulations are possible in Teller County up to 1″ with slight more on Pikes Peak. Only a trace is possible in Colorado Springs, with up to 1″ in the foothills. Some models are showing up to 3″ in Teller County, but recent warm temperatures should keep messy roads and those higher totals at bay.

EXTENDED: We have another round of snow on Saturday that will only bring minor accumulation and cooler highs. We have a brief break in the snow on Sunday before a more significant round moves in Monday and Tuesday. This one looks to bring accumulation so we will keep you posted.
