Suspects arrested after hitting Pueblo police car during chase

Close to a dozen Pueblo police officers were chasing after a car that hit a patrol car and then weaved through the west side of the city.

It started when an officer spotted a stolen car near 2300 Acero Ave. around 10:15 a.m. Thursday. The driver of the car took off and hit the officer’s car. (MAP)

Another crash was reported because of the fleeing suspects near Prairie and Thatcher avenues, and officers began chasing, according to emergency dispatch traffic. At one point, it was reported to be driving the wrong way down Abriendo Ave. The car was reported to be smoking after police used spike strips to pop its tires.

Multiple accidents were reported as the car made its way to Santa Fe Ave. It tried to pull off into Runyon Field before getting back on Santa Fe south toward Northern Ave.

The car was finally stopped near Bonhem Ave. (MAP) Multiple people were inside the vehicle. Police said Angelo Lucero and 19-year-old Lethicia Vigil were arrested. Police had to use a Taser on the driver, but it had no effect.

No injuries have been reported at this time.
