Kansas middle school students buy flowers for every girl, female staff member at school

Thre Kansas middle school students are making headlines after ensuring no girl or woman at their school went without a gift this Valentine’s Day.

According to KMBC, Tristan Valentine, 8th grade, Kyan Rice, 7th grade, and Lincoln Holmes, 6th grade, used their own money to buy flowers for all 270 girls and 70 female staff members at their middle school. It was a gesture that cost them hundreds of dollars.

When the boys got to school on Thursday, they brought the buckets of carnations to begin passing out. They stood by the entrance of the school and handed out a flower to each female who entered the building, all while wishing them a “Happy Valentine’s Day.”

“We wanted every girl to feel important and special on Valentine’s Day,” Valentine told KMBC. “We worked hard to make sure it was going to be a surprise to everybody. I only told a few friends, and the girls seemed surprised and happy.”

The middle school principal reportedly said she “got chills seeing it happen.” She explained it was “refreshing to see three young men go out of their way to make others feel happy” and their act provided a big boost to school spirit.
