Colorado Springs police arrest suspect after standoff

Colorado Springs police officers were in a standoff with a suspect Wednesday morning that lasted through about 2 p.m.

The standoff happened near Uintah and Yuma, and the U.S. Post Office in the area was closed due to the police activity. ( MAP ) Police arrived to the scene after receiving a shots fired call.

After further investigation, officers learned the suspect, Deandre Martin had left the scene and went to a neighboring apartment complex.

Officers set up containment in the area and the Tactical Enforcement Unit assisted in helping to clear the scene. Martin was taken into custody and arrested around 2 p.m.

Police say at least one shot was fired, but no injuries were reported.
