Centura Health buys 58 acres for new campus in north Colorado Springs

Centura Health has plans to build a new campus on the north side of Colorado Springs as part of Penrose-St. Francis Health Services.

The health group is spending $30 million to buy about 58 acres of land near Interstate 25 and Interquest Parkway. That’s close to the Air Force Academy and is in an area that is seeing a spur of new developments.

Brian Erling, President and CEO of Penrose-St. Francis Health Services, said the city’s third medical campus is part of “a long-term strategy that addresses the current market changes … and the projected growth of our region.”

“Building a medical campus in the area with the highest projected population growth in our city will ensure that Penrose-St. Francis will continue to be our region’s leading health care system,” Erling said in a statement.

It’s not yet known when the first facility on the campus will open.
