Two injured in Friday night shooting near S. Chelton Road, juvenile taken into custody

Two people were injured in a late night shooting Friday night.

Police officers with the Sand Creek Police Department were called to the 2500 block of South Chelton Road around 11:45 p.m. Friday on reports of shots being fired into houses and vehicles.

When they arrived, they found two separate men with gunshot wounds. In both cases, the actions leading up to the shootings were very similar.

Witnesses reported the suspect was driving around in a black colored, possibly Dodge pickup truck, with an extended cab and back passenger window covered with plastic. The vehicle was also reported to have had an unknown temporary license plate tag on it.

Officers were able to catch up with the vehicle and discovered three juveniles were in connection with it. After an investigation, officers took one of those juveniles into custody without incident.
