Woman being investigated in Kelsey Berreth case

A woman from Twin Falls, Idaho is being investigated for her role in Kelsey Berreth’s disappearance.

While the woman has not been formally identified by police as the woman they are investigating, sources confirm to KRDO NewsChannel 13 the woman is Krystal Lee. Lee also goes by the name “Krystal Kenney”, which is her maiden name.

On Monday, KRDO NewsChannel 13 reported a woman was being investigated by officers as a person of interest in the case and is believed to have disposed of Berreth’s phone in the days after she was last seen alive, but had decided not to report her name.

While we’ve known who Lee is for some time, KRDO has chosen to name her now, as she has been identified by several other news outlets.

Lee, a divorced mother of two, is believed to have been having a romantic relationship with Patrick Frazee. Sources close to Lee told ABC News that the pair have known each other for years, and reportedly worked together at one time.

She was involved in rodeo, being named 2008 Rodeo Queen of the Magic Valley Stampede. Frazee also was involved in rodeo, according to social media posts obtained by KRDO NewsChannel 13.

Recently, Lee was employed as a pre-op nurse at the St. Luke’s Magic Valley Medical Center in Twin Falls.

The hospital confirmed she is currently on a leave of absence, but would not confirm how long that leave has been. They also would not confirm the nature of law enforcement inquiries into Lee’s work history or whether Lee is facing disciplinary review or sanctions.

As of January 5, no charges have been filed against her. A search of jail rosters in Idaho counties has not revealed she is being held in custody.
