High Tech Hacks: Emoji keyboard shortcut, saving parking locations, & password apps
For this week’s ‘High Tech Hacks,’ we’re bringing you ways to make your life a little easier.
The first hack is for Mac users. If you have an Apple computer, whether that be a desktop or laptop and love to use Emojis, there’s an easy way to pull up the Emoji keyboard.
What to do:
Just hit Control + Command + Space Bar together all at the same time and the Emoji keyboard instantly pops up.
Now if you’re like a lot of people and forgetful when it comes to parking your car, our second hack is for showing your exact parked location. You do have to have the Google Maps app downloaded on your device, though.
What to do:
With the Google Maps app downloaded on your smartphone and after you’ve parked your car someplace, open the Google Maps app, tap down on the blue dot marking your location, and a menu bar should open up asking you to set this spot as your parking location. Hit this option and your exact location is marked.
(Pro Tip: From there, you can also put in notes about the spot or even take a picture of the spot to help you remember. You can also share the exact location with a friend or family member).
And while we’re on the track of useful tips to help you remember things, our third and final hack is for storing your passwords in a location to pull from when you need them.
What to do:
Now, there are multiple different apps to help for this, but I found that if you typed “Password vault” into the app store, several options come up. I chose to use Keeper Password Manager in the Apple store. Download the app, set up an account, and follow the instructions…saving all your usernames and passwords. You can refer back to the app anytime you need information and it’s password protected.
