ABC News: Search for Kelsey Berreth expands to landfill, authorities say

The search for evidence in the case of missing 29-year-old Colorado mother, Kelsey Berreth, now includes the Midway Landfill in Fountain, Colorado, ABC News reports.

According to the report from ABC News, a spokeswoman for the landfill that is just south of Colorado Springs confirmed the facility recently drew the attention of investigators in the disappearance of Berreth and presumed murder by her fiance, Patrick Frazee.

At this time her body has not been located.

Our crews waited outside the landfill all morning on Thursday, but there was no sign of the CBI.

“The Colorado Bureau of Investigation contacted Waste Management of Colorado regarding a potential search at Midway Landfill and we are cooperating fully,” Waste Management spokeswoman Anne Spitza told ABC News on Wednesday.

Spitza declined to answer additional questions about the timing of any search or what investigators are looking for. The directed all other questions to the district attorney’s office that is handling the case.

Representatives for district attorney Dan May and the Colorado Bureau of Investigation both declined to comment Wednesday.

On Dec. 21, 32-year-old Patrick Frazee (Berreth’s fiance and father of the couple’s one-year-old daughter) was arrested on first-degree murder charges and three charges of solicitation to commit murder. Frazee has not entered a plea and is due back in court February 19.
