Morning Weather Alert: Cold, icy roads and then clearing – 2/7/19

TODAY: The morning brings areas of black ice and lightly snow covered roads. This means that you’ll need to take it slow before the sun comes up and starts to thaw things out! Bitter cold wind chills are expected around the Palmer Divide and in Teller County. The feels like temperature will be anywhere between -15 and -25. The rest of the day brings highs in the 20s and 30s with partly cloudy to mostly sunny skies. A few snowflakes are possible over the higher terrain but most places stay quiet.

TONIGHT: Mostly clear and cold with more lows in the teens and single digits.

EXTENDED: The weekend looks nice with highs in the 30s, 40s and near 50 by Friday and Saturday. Skies also look pretty sunny! Sunday could brings some mountain snow showers, but right now, this doensn’t look to cause any problems. A better chance for snow moves in on Monday with cooler highs. We will keep you updated!
