Authorities arrest suspect in connection to November homicide of Colorado Springs man

Update: The Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a suspect in connection to the November 23 homicide committed on the 5500th block of Overton Road in North Pueblo County.

When police arrived, they found 47-year-old Barney Jenkins of Colorado Springs dead under suspicious circumstances.

After an investigation, police arrested Thomas O’Hara, 52, of Colorado Springs for first-degree murder. At the time of his arrest, O’Hara was being held at the Criminal Justice Center on unrelated charges in this investigation.

The Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office is looking into a dead body found near the 5500th block of Overton Road in North Pueblo County around 4:30 p.m. Friday, November 23rd.

Police say a citizen first discovered the body of a middle-aged white male and immediately contacted authorities.

The Pueblo County Coroner’s Office is working with the Colorado Bureau of Investigation identified the man as 47-year-old Barney Jenkins of Colorado Springs. The death is being considered suspicious.
