Affidavit outlines disturbing details in alleged rapes by Colorado Springs man

One of the underage victims reportedly raped by a 67-year-old man in Colorado Springs was laying in bed moments before the assault and became sad because he “knew what was about to happen to him,” court documents say.

The young child told investigators that as Joseph Davis was sexually assaulting him, he wished that he had “a better life” where that abuse didn’t happen to him, according to an arrest affidavit obtained this week.

Davis was arrested back in December, but now Colorado Springs police are looking for more victims. In a release, they said his crimes may date back 35 years.

The affidavit says the young boy, whose age is not released, went to his mother in October of 2018 telling her he, “didn’t want to go to Joe’s anymore.”

It’s explained the victim would often go over the Davis’ home for sleepovers with his grandkids. It was then, the victim says, that he would experience the darkest times of his life. He told investigators, “He was really sad and knew what was about to happen to him.”

Davis is accused of raping the boy, and he described explicit details to investigators during an interview.

What’s more alarming is the arrest documents that show another case involving Joseph Davis stems back to a sexual assault accusation in 2010.

It explains that another young boy reported he was abused several times and accused Davis of taking “digital photos of him in nude awkward positions.”

Davis is currently facing several sexual assault felonies. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for Feb. 4.
