Another jewelry store robbed in Colorado Springs

There may be a group of jewel thieves on a spree through Colorado Springs — just days after two jewelry stores were robbed within hours of each other, another store was hit Tuesday by a group with the same modus operandi.

Colorado Springs police said a jewelry store located near Palmer Park and N. Academy boulevards was the scene of a robbery around 10 a.m. Tuesday. Police say four men went inside, smashed display cases and took items.

At least one person was armed with a handgun, and all of them were wearing black clothing. Two of them were possibly white while the other two were black, police said.

No injuries were reported, but police said one customer was inside when the men walked in.

It’s incredibly similar to the robbery spree we told you about on Friday, when Moretti Jewelers and the Jared store at Academy and Woodmen were both robbed.

CSPD is still investigating the cases. If you have information that could help lead to an arrest, call 719-444-7000.
