Fountain police K9 gifted bullet, stab protection vest

The Fountain Police Department received a bullet and stab proof vest this week thanks to a charitable donation from non-profit organization Vested Interest in K9s, Inc.

According to the department, the vest was sponsored by an anonymous person who embroidered it with the quote, “Honoring those who served and sacrificed.”

Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. is a 501c(3) charity located in East Taunton, MA whose mission is to provide bullet and stab protective vests and other assistance to dogs of law enforcement and other related agencies in the U.S.

The non-profit was established in 2009. Since its start, Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. has provided over 3,200 protective vests (a value of $5.7 million) throughout 50 states, through both private and corporate donations.

The donation to provide one of this protective vest for a law enforcement K9 is $950. Each vest is valued between $1,744- $2,283, and come with a five-year warranty.
