Weather Alert Day: Snow showers and minor accumulation – 1/24/19

TODAY: We start the day with dry skies and will then increase our chances for snow showers through the late morning. The best window for snow will be between 9AM and noon before things start to wrap up. By 3PM to 4PM, skies should be mostly dry. Minor accumulation is expected in northeast and east El Paso County (1-3″) with a trace to an inch in Colorado Springs. A trace to 2″ (maybe 3″) is likely over areas in the far eastern plains. Roads could quickly become snow covered at times, so just be aware of some icy spots this afternoon.

TONIGHT: Partly cloidy and cold with overnight lows in the teens. Any kind of snow will have moved out of the area.

EXTENDED: The weekend looks beautiful with sunshine and highs getting back into the 40s and 50s. It doesn’t last for long. Monday is another weather alert day due to more widespread snow. We will keep you posted on the changing forecast.
