Police investigating after pedestrian struck by train in Fort Collins Thursday morning

A 42-year-old Fort Collins woman suffered serious injuries after being hit a by a train early Thursday morning.

According to The Coloradoan, Hanna Mahady was hit by a northbound BNSF Railway train around 1:30 in the morning near the tracks by the intersection of West Mountain Avenue and North Mason Street.

Police have not provided much more information regarding what happened, however, the woman was transported to the Medical Center of the Rockies in Loveland. A spokesperson for the hospital said Mahady is in critical condition.

Authorities investigating the collision do not believe speed played a factor in the case.
