Victim identified in fatal shooting on Lashelle Avenue

UPDATE: The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office has identified the victim in the fatal shooting that occurred on January 18, 2019, near Lashelle Avenue.

Alexsander Warfield, 24, was found dead at the scene around 2:58 p.m. The cause of death has yet to be determined by the Corner’s Office, however, they will let the public know when that information becomes available.

Authorities would like to extend their deepest sympathies to Mr. Warfield and his family and friends at this time.

The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office has taken the suspect involved in Friday’s homicide near Lashelle road into custody without incident.

Emilio Estiban, 31, was arrested thanks to the help of EPSO Patrol Deputies and CSPD Tactical Enforcement Unit.

A fatal shooting south of Colorado Springs is under investigation by the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Friday afternoon.

Few details have been released, but we know the incident happened in the area of LaShelle Ave. and Hampton Street in the Stratmoor area. (MAP) LaShelle will be closed indefinitely near S. Hampton Street while the crime scene is processed.

One man was killed; police say a suspect is still on the loose and is believed to be armed and dangerous.

Investigators are still searching the scene for evidence.
