Dutch Bros. raises $82,000 for fallen California police officer

Well-known coffee shop chain Dutch Bros. used its popularity to raise tens of thousands of dollars for a young California police officer who was killed on Jan. 10.

Davis Police Officer Natalie Corona, 22, was shot and killed while she was responding to a car crash. Officers found the suspect nearby, dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Corona was apparently a regular customer at Dutch Bros. in Davis, so the company’s 26 stores in the central California region started a fundraiser for her.

On Jan. 17, a dollar from every drink was donated, and the coffee chain presented $82,602 for Corona’s memorial fund.

Corona was laid to rest Friday following a memorial that was attended by hundreds.
