A quick dry spell before weekend showers

Today: The morning will be chilly and mild for Colorado Springs with 60s until 9 a.m. Temperatures warm quickly, with highs in the high-80s. A lot of sunshine will take precedence through the morning with only a few clouds popping in after 2 p.m.

When the state fair gates open in Pueblo at 3 p.m., the temperature will already be in the 90s, and it could get up to 93 degrees until the sun goes down and conditions cool.

Showers and thunderstorms are only likely in the western high country north of I-70 after 12 p.m.

Tomorrow: Another dry day! The most likely area to get moisture is Las Animas County, with showers and thunderstorms popping in from the south after 12 p.m.

High temperatures will add a degree or two, keeping Colorado Springs in the high-80s and Pueblo in the mid-90s.
