Man crashes car into Colorado Springs store during burglary

Officers responded to a burglary alarm at a business in northeast Colorado Springs just before 1:00 a.m. Friday.

Shortly after arriving in the 5100 block of N. Academy Blvd., officers got a second call from someone saying they saw a vehicle smash into the front of the store. The reporting party said after crashing the vehicle, the suspect ran in and out of the store and then drove away.

Approximately 20 minutes later, officers located the suspect vehicle driving through a neighborhood approximately 1 mile away from the incident.

Police arrested the suspect who is a juvenile male.

Authorities also discovered the suspect vehicle was stolen and recovered additional evidence of the burglary.
