Chris Hansen of NBC’s ‘To Catch a Predator’ arrested for bad checks

The host of NBC’s “To Catch a Predator,” Chris Hansen, turned himself into police in Stamford, Connecticut, after being charged with bouncing checks.

According to ABC 7, police said Hansen ordered promotional trinkets from a Stamford company in the summer of 2017. That September, he was given a bill for $13,000.

The check he used to pay the bill bounced, according to police. Hansen told the proprietor he would pay in installments for the bill but never followed through.

The proprietor then called police on Hansen after trying to speak with him before a second check bounced.

Hansen has now been charged with writing a bad check and failing to pay his debt. He was released after promising to appear at a later date in court.
