El Paso County Sheriff’s Office detain barricaded suspect

UPDATE – 9:30 p.m. The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed the man they were in a standoff with for hours has been taken into custody.

The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office says the man was taken to the hospital as a precautionary measure.

Deputies have identified the man as David Miller, he’s facing felony domestic violence charges in addition to charges relating to Sunday night’s standoff.

BREAKING: Several viewers called KRDO Sunday afternoon to report strong police activity occurring in a neighborhood on Maxwell Street near S. Academy and I-25.

Police confirmed the suspect at large was an adult male, armed with a handgun. Authorities tell KRDO, they man took a hostage in during the incident, however, released that person.

Police were not able to detain the suspect and believe he is armed and dangerous.

He is wanted on a felony warrant for domestic violence. If you have any information leading to his arrest, you’re asked to contact police.
