Pedestrian killed in crash at Austin Bluffs Pkwy and N. Academy Blvd

Authorities are investigating after a pedestrian was killed near the intersection of Austin Bluffs and N. Academy Blvd. Thursday night in Colorado Springs.

Police say the victim, an adult male, wasn’t using the crosswalk while trying to cross the intersection and was struck by a vehicle.

We’re told the driver of the vehicle did stop after the incident and is cooperating with police during the investigation.

This is the second death in the recent months near the same intersection. Lieutenant Black with The Colorado Springs Police Department warns the public to remind their friends and families about the dangers of Colorado roads and pedestrians crossing without proper signage.

Police are still investigating exactly how the crash occurred.
