Price of ‘Forever Stamp’ to go up 10 percent

The U.S. Postal Service will be leaving 50-cent Forever Stamps behind later this month.

Starting January 27th, the stamps will cost 55 cents as opposed to 50 cents, a 10 percent increase.

According to USA Today, priority mail prices will also be increasing later this year. The price will increase by an average of 5.9 percent. Priority mailing prices are also set to rise, increasing 3.9 percent.

Despite a growth in the number of packages shipped in 2018, the Postal Service also recorded a 12 straight year in financial losses.
