Husband identifies woman killed in ‘freak’ accident off N. Academy in Colorado Springs

The husband of a woman killed by her own truck in Colorado Springs Thursday calls the incident a freak accident.

Dean Dreher said his wife, Bích Vân Ngô, who went by Theresa Dreher, was killed in the accident off North Academy near Vickers.

Dreher said Theresa was crushed by the door of her truck when it ran into another parked vehicle in a parking lot Thursday afternoon.

Dreher said the two have been married for about 15 years.

Dreher said Theresa moved to Colorado Springs from Vietnam 40 years ago. She came to the U.S. as a refugee.

Dreher describes Theresa as having a heart of gold, always putting others before herself and giving of her time to help and give to others.

Theresa worked as a nail tech at multiple Colorado Springs nail salons over her time living here.

Dreher said the Colorado Springs community has come together to help during the difficult time in many ways.

Dreher said Theresa led a beautiful life that was “terribly cut too short.”

Services for Theresa Dreher are being held Friday, Jan. 11 at 10:00 a.m. at Shrine of the Remembrance “America the Beautiful” Chapel in Colorado Springs.
