Colorado Springs police arrest suspect in murder at Windmill Apartments
Colorado Springs police have arrested a 20-year-old man suspected of murder after a fatal shooting that happened earlier this month outside an apartment complex.
Police released an update last week saying investigators got an arrest warrant for Savino Benjamin Anceno for murder, and they needed the public’s help finding him. Friday, Anceno was taken into custody on the murder charge.
On Dec. 8, 32-year-old Nicholas G. Romero was found dead after gunshots were reported in the area. We don’t know what led to the shooting or if Romero and Anceno knew each other beforehand.
Anceno is the second suspect in this case after 22-year-old Saphire Nicks was arrested on Dec. 18.

CSPD is still asking for any witnesses with information to call investigators at 719-444-7000.
