New law requires New York men’s public bathrooms to have changing tables

A new law in New York requires restrooms to have changing tables inside them.

According to WPVI, the new law changes the state’s building code to require new and renovated buildings with public bathrooms that provide children’s changing tables in both the women’s and men’s restroom.

State facilities like parks and Department of Motor Vehicles offices are also included in the law, as well as restaurants, businesses, movie theaters, and stores.

The law was passed last April and comes after a photo went viral of a dad changing his kid’s diaper on the floor of a restroom.
