Shield616 completing effort to outfit Colorado Springs officers with body armor
A Colorado Springs-based organization that provides police departments with body armor will hit a major milestone this weekend when it finishes outfitting every officer in the Springs police department.
Shield616 will host its final vest presentation for the Colorado Springs Police Department this Sunday at Church For All Nations, according to a news release. Fifty-five CSPD officers will receive active shooter kits.
While CSPD will be fully outfitted, the organization will continue serving other police departments and sheriff’s offices.
Kits are paid for with donations to Shield616, and several donors will be at Sunday’s vest presentation alongside officers and CSPD Chief Pete Carey.
