Shield 616 outfits Monument, Palmer Lake officers with gear

Shield 616 continued its effort to supply Colorado police departments and sheriff’s offices with tactical body armor and gear — this week’s stop was in Monument.

Officers with the Monument and Palmer Lake police departments attended a presentation ceremony at Living Word Chapel Monday. All of the officers were given new advanced active shooter and crowd control gear. ( PHOTOS )

Shield 616 was able to provide the gear thanks to the help of several community events in the Tri-Lakes area that raised more than $17,000 for the organization.

The presentation follows several others made by Shield 616. Earlier this year, the entire Colorado Springs Police Department received kits from the charity.
