The crash happened around 5:15 in the morning on Colorado Highway 50, near milepost 281. The 55-year-old male pedestrian was reported to have been wearing dark clothing when he crossed Highway 50 from north to south. While crossing, a 2000 Toyota Solara was traveling eastbound on the highway and struck him.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene, however, he has not been identified at this time. The driver of the Toyota was identified as 29-year-old Timothy Olivas of Pueblo, Colorado. Olivas was not injured during the crash.
