Colorado Springs police investigating homicide on Delta Drive, victim identified

The Colorado Springs Police Department is investigating a suspicious death Thursday at the Whitney Young Manor apartments, 2129 Delta Drive.

The police Violent Crimes Unit is at the scene.

Officers arrived around 2 p.m. and found 43-year-old Robbie London inside an apartment unit.

The man had received “traumatic injuries” from an apparent gunshot wound, police said.

Investigators are treating the case as a homicide, pending autopsy results from the El Paso County Coroner’s Office.

An apartment resident, who asked to remain anonymous, was visibly upset.

“I heard gunfire around 10 p.m. (Wednesday) night,” she said. “And now, they find a man dead. It’s a shame that kids coming home from school should have to see this.”

The apartments are on the city’s southeast side, near the intersection of Academy Boulevard and Chelton Road.

Police said if the death is ruled a homicide, it will increase the city’s all-time record to 37. The previous high was 32.
