Man arrested after standoff with Colorado Springs police, threatened to blow up house

A man was arrested after a standoff with Colorado Springs Police late Wednesday night.

Police were called the 3100 block of N. Wood Ave. just before 11:30 p.m. for reports of a disturbance with a gun.

Police say Christopher Williams was under the influence of medication and threatened to shoot a woman if she didn’t give him his keys.

When police arrived, Williams failed to comply with commands and told officers to shoot him. Williams then barricaded himself inside, turned the gas on and threatened to blow up the house.

Williams surrendered after officers broke in several windows. He is charged with domestic felony menacing.
